Rhinestones, Stripes, and Starburst Oh My!

I'm not very good at updating this blog am I!?!?

I have a couple of nails from my friend Kate and a couple of mine. So at least I'm giving you a lot!! :)

First up Kate got her rhinestones in the mail so she decided to try them out. It was only afterwards that she realized they were very St. Patrick's Day-esqe!

They are cute none the less!!

She had then tried to do stripes but it didn't work well, I told her I ordered Nail Art Tape and so we did them together at her house before her bridal shower. I did hot pink and lime green with a bunch of different patterns and she did stripes with a red heart.  Here is a pic of mine and then one of our hands together.

Kate's nails were navy blue and white. They are so cute! My pointer finger on my right hand (the one in the second picture) was my favorite!

Kate forgot to bring me the dotting tools she got for me so I have yet to have my fun with those. But she made flowers the other day and she did an amazing job. She says she has no patience but I think it takes a lot to make these flowers. The colors she used were great too.

And last but not least, I tried the starburst design that I saw on Pinterest. I did not line things up correctly but they still came out pretty cute! All my friends loved them.

The bluish purple on this nail is Taylor by Julep. I just became a Julep Maven and am in LOVE. I've gotten my intro box and a mystery box so I have a total of five colors from them and a top coat. I also picked up some Buffalo Bills stickers to put on my nails. I'm excited that training camp starts soon so I don't have to wait until the season starts to wear them!!

I also just received my Barielle nail polish order from Hautelook. Unfortunately they sent me some wrong colors and one of them was a set. Of course all the ones I didn't get are the ones I was most looking forward to. :( I am going to paint each finger with the colors I got and post them tomorrow. Along with whatever I decide to do next with my new Matte About You top coat!! yay!

Matte About You!

Hello?... Is anyone out there? I hope so!

Sorry that this blog is a little slow on the uptake! For the time being it seems I have to rely on my friends for some nails. My commute to and from work is almost an hour so during the week I sometimes don't have enough time to do my nails. I haven't even had time to organize all my nail stuff into my new tackle box! Lucky for me my friends have some more time.

Like my friend Ashley. She has off on most Wednesdays and today she tried another nail adventure.

She purchased two Essie nail polishes yesterday at Ulta. The first is called Lights. It's a very vibrant pink.

Isn't it gorgeous!?

So she painted her nails this beautiful color this morning. Then she placed the Essie Matte About You top coat over it! I couldn't wait for her to send me a picture because this bright of a pink I would always expect to see shiny. I need to go out and purchase Matte About You as soon as I have some cash flow (damn you bi weekly pay!!)

It looks so subdued but I absolutely love it!!

Then... being the Ashley that she is... wasn't satisfied enough and decided to experiment a little and did some high gloss polka dots on top! It turned out super cute!!

I can only imagine how much more awesome they look in person! I should have some nail goodies waiting for me at home so hopefully I'll have something to post that I did myself tomorrow! The time is slowly ticking by today, I just want to go home and do my nails!!

Gradient & A Brilliant Idea!

Between pinterest, the interwebs and myself... a couple of my friends have also ventured into doing their nails as a hobby. I had tried gradient for the first time the other day and thought white to hot pink would look cool. Unfortunately I had forgotten a very important step of wetting the sponge first so the polish wouldn't soak up into it. My nails turned out ok but the light pink barely showed up and it looked very rough.

Even though she made fun of me, my friend Kate decided to try it out herself using yellow to orange. It came out looking great (especially for her first attempt) and very summery!!

She's already had a few compliments on it and I can't wait to try again when all my new colors arrive.

Since both of us own a lot of nail polish we had discussed better ways of storing/displaying them. Her and her fiance live in a small one bedroom apartment but he told her he didn't care how many nail polishes she bought, as long as she had somewhere to put them. She tossed around the idea of getting a shelf to put up and display them. Well, I don't know how this really came about but she sent me this picture yesterday and said it was her fiance's idea. (That's his foot in the picture!)

I figured it was a caboodles. Upon asking her, turns out... it's a Tackle Box!!! How brilliant! The nail polishes seem to fit perfectly! Even the Sally Hansen Xtreme bottles fit two to a slot! Not only that, she has room to grow!!! I am probably going to pick one up myself today after work! It's organized and portable!

My friend Ashley has also been experimenting (to the point where she wasn't satisfied with everything she tried and did her nails like 5 times the other day!!) She bought a nail polish pen to make a black bow under her self done French Manicure. She wasn't very satisfied with the pen, but for a first attempt her nails came out really cute.

It's feels great to inspire others and share a fun and wonderful hobby with my friends. I'll be taking off my galaxy nails tonight and I'm not sure what I am going to try next as I wait for all my fun Barielle polishes to arrive!!

Galaxy Nails

After seeing these nails on pinterest, I knew I had to give it a try. This was only my first attempt and I feel like they could be done better but I'm satisfied. I couldn't get the right lighting and these pictures were just taken with my phone but in person they look a bit more awesome. :)

I'm waiting on a bunch of polish to come that I just ordered at 50% off! I can not wait to try the endless possibilities. Marbling is probably my favorite thing to do, although time consuming. I can't wait to try a few other things but I'll keep those to myself until I do it!!

So, hopefully I'll get some followers and subscribers and everyone will enjoy what I post :)
